Sons for luck

They called her lucky and gossiped about what a nice man she had married. He would work day after day for years to feed her fetish for new sarees every month, new footwear, gold bangles on a wimp, cheap looking expensive cutlery which will anyway never be used, air travel, movie weekends, dinner outside twice a week. She always felt life was to live for the moment in its entire luxurious splendor in a carefree manner; after all she was the mother of two sons. Yes, she had been lucky indeed.
